I am happy to be part of the soon opening exhibition in the Craft Museum of Finland in Jyväskylä! My three unique earrings from the Daughters of Slush and Snow series were selected to the exhibition which opens on 11th of November and runs until beginning of the January next year.
Korun tila exhibition explores the current state of jewellery – its forms and aesthetics, as well as its relationship to the body. Jewellery is an object that can be experienced through the senses: it can be felt on the skin, and it also functions as a means of communication.
Contemporary jewellery is a relatively new form of contemporary art in which content takes precedence, with the artist determining its form. The field of contemporary jewellery is broad: jewellery can be worn and moved with, allowing it to extend beyond the confines of the exhibition space.
The exhibition brings together works selected from proposals submitted through an open call, alongside a selection from the existing collection of the Finnish Jewellery Art Association, presented on screen.
